• Remember there are lots of different types of distribution including:
  • Distributed Data
  • Distributed Processing
  • Distributed People
• In the modern world many organisations are vast and widely distributed.
• Moreover, people are often members of many organistaions.
• You don't belong to just the organisation you work for.
• Indeed, that organisation may have several sub-organisations and you may belong to several of them.
• In some sense, Virtual Worlds really enable this distribution. The Internet can support virtual offices.
• However, the Internet is not a substitute for being there. People are still geared for face-to-face communication.
