The Cloud and Distributed Processing

   - The real benefit from the cloud is fungible processing.

   - If more processing is required more is available.

   - A good example of this is multi user video games like
       World of Warcraft.

   - As more users log on, processing requirements rise.
In the cloud this is seemless.

   - They can turn machines on and off (some automatically) to
       optimize the use of resources.

   - There is some thinking that PCs will stop there rapid increase
in power (Moore's Law or a corollary), and that people will
just use phones or light clients to access the Web.

   - I like having processing on my desk, so I'm somewhat sceptical.
