Receptive Fields
   - Your eyes work with receptive fields.

   - What goes down the optic nerve is a signal that a receptive field
       is active.

   - The fields are oval and of varying sizes.

   - They are on centre off surround, or off centre on surround.

   - The neurons associated with a field responds optimally to this, but
less with a less perfect pattern.

   - For an on centre off surround, it responds less when there is
less on in the centre, or more on in the surround.

   - Most vision research isn't interested in this, as they get what
they need from simple projections, though it's now being
used in some vision deep nets.
