Mind Maps

• There is a technique closely related to semantic nets called Mind Maps.
• This just gives you a way of freely connecting ideas, and is great for note taking.
• The Buzans have a good book on Mind Maps, but also see the Mind Map wiki .
• You draw nodes, and connect them. You don't typically label arcs, but you can develop your own style.
• Just draw one out for this class.
• It really takes advantage of the spreading activation nature of human memory.
