Module Learning Outcomes

1. Critically eavluate IS/IT needs in an organisational context applying systems theory and identify the strategic and social impacts of Information Systems on an organisation.
2. Identify the major management challenges to using web-based Information Systems, especially in sustaining strategic advantages.
3. Critically assess current developments in web design and web database paradigms in industry to evaluate existing methodologies and techniques.
4. Apply various positioning frameworks to analyse an organisation's dependence on Information technology and determine an organisation's competitive strength.
5. Critically evaluate various web based business models with respect to their nature and special characteristics of both the Internet and digital goods.
6. Critically evaluate the efficeincy and effectivenss of database technologies used in a given business environment.
