Binding via Synchrony

The binding problem has been known for some time.
Consequently, there is a proposed solution.
Two CAs are bound if their neurons fire synchronously (von der Malsburg).
There has been a lot of work under this hypothesis.
Palm (and Knoblauch) has a robot that binds via synchrony that actually does language, sensing and motion (NCPW04).
Sounge also has a good system (Connection Science 2001) that binds via synchrony.
It must be noted that each neuron in the bound CAs does not fire at the same time, but they do so stochastically.
